I ain't no junior
@ Hom3r, Well your avatar area says you are, so you must be. :D
Did anyone think to warn the CableHell refugees what was happening to-night. Seeing their forum go down twice in 24 hours may be a tad disconoberating.
Yes, it was posted in the downtime thread this afternoon, it also links to here. :)
Just Paul having his daily fiddle with the servers.....
It shouldn't be down for any longer than the other night
I doubt if they will have seen the downtime thread as they were to concerned about what had happened. I was going to put a link on the CableHell thread but got distracted. :(
What's 'DNS entry' <dunce>
The direct IP wont really help, there is no site there atm ....
The DNS only takes a couple of hours, and has already been changed, you may even pick the change up before the site finishes moving.
the relationship between a site name and its IP address on the internet - each site has a 'record' on the DNS server being used, which may be local or external.
Changing a sites domain details may trigger a need to have the name cascaded over the worldwide DNS - that often results in a delay resolving the site name to the IP address that will be allocated when the update has happened.
