Thanks Mick,
FYI: Before it went down the threads were there just no post data within them
Hope its fixed soon. :) Cannot go without my daily fix on CF :)
Indeed....:)
yeah hope its back soon
Hope it's back soon.
Saw last night compression issues with some thread (Gzip malfunctioning.)
Figures, I have a happy thought to post, instead of just a response to someone else's, & CF goes down.
Yup - it all went off while I was posting something...

Well at least I get to use an avatar for a change :)
At least we know who to blame then :)
Hope the problems are resolved soon, I have one early night and everything goes to pieces.
Seems strange being on here and not posting about spam on toast. :)
Oh, and while this forum is open, and if anyone can spare the time, could someone remove my negative rep. Having a red reputation is somewhat disconcerting.
Update: The Database issue remains unresolved - Unfortunately the main CF site will be down for a bit until this is resolved.
Good luck - system problems are a beyatch.....
Thanks to the 2 of you who have tried to restore my good name, but, I still have -14 points.
At least that's an improvement on my original -35. Just goes to show how difficult it is to live down a bad reputation. :D

Back to green. :D Names don't show so you are anonymous doners, so thanks who ever is rep'ing me. Despite the official line. :D
@ Alien. What bits? We can give you an ooooh and aaaaah to be going on with.
Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe motherboard
PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT Extreme 512MB GDDR4
LiteON LH-20A1L-14C 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - Retail
& a 4GB flash/thumb drive [figured it was about time I got 1 :D], & a couple of power cables [1 SATA & 1 PCI-E].
The new motherboard should give me a bit of a performance improvement, as it will allow me to set the voltage properly for my RAM [current board just has Auto, high, & ultra, & I'm not willing to try the other 2 without knowing what they actually correspond to - it doesn't even list memory voltage in power monitoring], as it won't run at the proper settings without more than 1.8v [1.8v is like a default standard for DDR2 RAM, but faster/higher performance RAM usually wants more voltage].
Side note for Zingle [& any other techies]: it's DDR2 800, but it's running at 5-5-5-18 timings, instead of 4-4-4-12. I can manually set the timings, but with the default vaultage it becomes unstable.
Also, current motherboard only supports SATA 150 speed, & only has 2 ports, compared to 6 SATA 300 ports on the new board, so I'll be able to have My OS on 1 drive, swap file on another, & temp/internet cache files on a 3rd, which should make my system a bit quicker [hopefully].
If its geil it needs 2.1 volt
Evening all. Everyone handling the cold turkey ok? :D
Crumbs. The end if nigh. How bad is it? Do we know?
It's so bad that we don't know how bad it is.
These things only ever happen while Paul is away. :disturbd:
I dunno, I take one night off and come back to find the forum off line..
I thought I was using the same ones as you, but now I'm not sure. I forget which ones you said you have.
I thought we both had the Value ones, but those apparently have a silver [grey?] heatspreader & looking at GeIL's site they only do 5-5-5-18. I found the email for the order [thought I got them from OcUK, but actually it was Tekheads], & it turns out mine are the Ultra [4x1GB].
Had hoped to be getting 4x2GB of GeIL Black Dragon 8500, but I realised that I hadn't paid a bill that I thought I'd paid, so had to stick with what I've got. :(
I have OCZ reaper now the Ultra low latency Geil I used to have is what you have I think and to run at 4 4 4 12 it needs 2.1 volt min
I looked at those, but was concerned that the heatsink might clash with some CPU coolers. Ok, so I'm still using the stock cooler, but I'll be putting a Freezer 64 on when I put the new board in, even if it fitted with that I might want a different cooler at some point in the future with that board [especially if I ever manage to get the cash for whatever the top Phenom is at the time - I know it's the 9950 now, but I don't know when I'll have the money].
Yeah, it's 1 thing to play around with voltages when I can actually see what the voltages are, but when restricted to the choices of "auto, high, & ultra", as with current board, & no way to see what the actual voltage is, I didn't want to risk frying the RAM.
It's always the same - Paul goes away - the server knows and falls over. I don't have all the access to all the gizmo's like Paul/Frank has so there is very little I can do this end. I have left a message for Frank, but if he isn't around either then its looking like Monday folks ...
Really missing the main forum ..
I was looking forward to boring everyone with how pleased I am with my new 22" monitor & how I had to update the bios on Mrs Gaz's pc in order to get the integrated graphics to display the 1400x900 res on my old 19" which she has inherited.
OOPs, looks like I did that, anyway, sorry ;) :D
